Your ball accelerates and slides rather than starting and stopping instantly, so almost every mistake in TagPro is a momentum mistake rather than an aim mistake.

Momentum
- Releasing a key doesn't stop you. You coast, and you keep coasting into whatever is ahead.
- To slow down, hold the opposite direction rather than letting go.
- Steering early beats steering hard. Wide arcs keep your speed; sharp turns throw it away.
Bumps and collisions
- Balls collide elastically: the faster ball wins the exchange and shoves the slower one.
- A bump is a legitimate defensive tool โ you don't need to pop anyone to ruin their route.
- Getting bumped off a button is what kills teammates inside gates. Sit in front of the button.
- Popping shoves everything nearby (a poost). You can spike yourself on purpose to move an enemy.
What changes your speed?
| Thing | Effect |
|---|---|
| Diagonal movement | Faster acceleration, higher top speed |
| Speed pad | About 3ร normal speed along your current heading |
| Team tiles | More acceleration and double max speed โ but not while carrying a flag |
| Juke Juice | Faster acceleration and quicker to top speed |
| Bomb blast | Large push away from the bomb's centre; no pop |
| Gravity well | Pull toward the centre, stronger the closer you get |

Why do good players look slower?
Because they're not fighting their own momentum. They commit to fewer direction changes, take lines that keep their speed, and arrive with the option to turn instead of the need to.
